Flower of genista aetnensis with guest... - P1262319

Genista aetnensis or Mount Etna Broom is a large shrub or small tree endemic to the island of Sicily where it is a very common constituent of the garigue communities around the lower slopes of Mount Etna.
Young plants are typical of brooms but as they age the shrubs develop into small trees with a greenish bark. Flowering is in late summer.
When you read the EXIF data of the focal length of my camera, to have the match in the 35mm format you must multiply the values x2.

Flower Abstract II (view 2)

These flowers were right next to the ones I used for the first abstract photo. The flowers were very similar, although the middles looked different. From far away, this flower looked white with a few accented pastel colors. A closeup along with color boosting revealed the beauty of the colors in this flower.

Garden House

This little house sits amidst the gardens at Vizcaya. I was surprised how few people were around - then again, it was brutally hot and we went during the week when most people are at work.

The Dawber Garden, Lawn Complex, Lincoln

A peaceful little hidden walled public garden is situated within a stone's throw of Lincoln's Castle and sadly missed by many tourist and sighteers who pass close by. The tranquil, walled John Dawber Garden, tucked away behind the children's play area in the Lawn Complex, provides a peaceful oasis away from the hustle and bustle of city life. The garden has areas devoted to Lincoln's twin towns, including eucalyptus trees from Port Lincoln, Australia, a German section dedicated to Neustadt an der Weinstrasse and an area celebrating the city's links with Tangshan, in China.
